"Come, come, whoever you are. Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving. It doesn't matter. Ours is not a caravan of despair. come, even if you have broken your vows a thousand times. Come, yet again , come , come."
(Mevlana Jalal-Ud-Din Rumi)
Mohsin health products is all about improving people's health and transforming lives. We do this through a unique range of herbal remedies and food based supplements. Our products are based on the eastern wisdoms of health found in the traditions of Tibb, also know as Unani Medicine. 'Tibb', which literally means 'nature' is a universal tradition of wholistic medicine, which in different places has been refereed to as; Arabic, Unani, Sufi, Hikmah & Islamic medicine. It brings together the natural healing traditions of Europe and Asia. Our hope is to make the wonders and benefits of this wisdom easily accessible to everyone.
The word 'Mohsin' is of Arabic roots, meaning 'excellence', 'beauty' & 'service'. Its at the centre of what Mohsin health products is all about; serving humanity by helping to maintain and restore health. It's an honourable and thoroughly enjoyable task.
How it all began…
Mohsin Health Products was setup by three brothers in 2008, Their father; 'Hakim' (Arabic: 'Healer') M. Salim, was their inspiration and a world renowned practitioner and teacher of traditional Tibb/Unani medicine. Hakim M. Salim has helped thousands of people with over 30 year's successful clinical experience in the UK.
The company started as a passion to convert some of our father's popular herbal & natural health remedies into ready-made products that anyone can purchase and benefit from. In the summer of 2008, Mohsin health products was offered funding by the Prince's Trust to make this passion a reality. Since then we have sustainably built up a selection of high quality products that continue to be used by a whole range of people.
Historical Roots
One of the hallmarks of natural medicine is balance, wholeness and unity, which seems to be absent from our modern living today. Tibb is a body of knowledge and practice which maintains health and endeavours to restore it whenever lost. Health is a purposeful condition of balance (I'itidal), in which all functions are carried out in a correct (Sahih) and whole (Salim) manner. The concept of wholeness and balance permeates the philosophy and practice of Tibb. Once the condition of wholeness and balance was a norm for most people, however as people and societies moved away from the natural order (Fitrah) disharmony in our bodies and diseases increase.
Some of the most illustrious names related to this tradition include; Ar-Razi of Persia, Ibn Baytar of Andalusia (Spain), Mainmondes of Cairo, Egypt, Ibn Sina (Avicenna), Hakim M. Ajmal Khan, India.

Helping beyond products
Our tradition helps us understand that our business is an entity in itself. Helping more than just its customers and people that work within it. It is for that reason as company, we commit 5% of our annual profits to help regeneration programmes in the developing world. For this we have selected two unique small charities; a free women & children's clinic in Pakistan & an orphanage in Bangladesh. Having these two charities helps guide our daily efforts in helping to bring a positive change in the world that we are a part of. |
